For 2009, the average salary range for accounting jobs in Surabaya (in IDR):
Staff --> 1,250,000 - 2,000,000 (fresh graduate)
Supervisor --> 1,750,000 - 3,500,000
Manager --> 5,000,000 - 10,000,000
The actual amounts may vary, with some companies even going in the extreme low or high (i.e. 3,000,000 for a fresh graduate staff, or 4,000,000 for a manager). Also, this does not apply to accounting jobs within public accounting or consulting firms, as they have different job structure.
For most of other companies, the above salary range seems to hold true.
For information, the minimum wage for Surabaya in 2009 is 948,500.
For other cities / region in Indonesia, basically only Jakarta has a higher salary range, approximately one and a half from that in Surabaya.
